About Me

My name is Sean Connolly. I’m a father, husband, and patent attorney with Kutak Rock in Omaha, Nebraska. My career lets me work as the person I am at heart … a technology geek. I have other hobbies and write about them here and how intellectual property law affects them.

This blog was inspired when my wife told me that I put the geek into everything I do. I took it as a compliment.

I am a patent attorney in Omaha, Nebraska, but I represent clients from throughout the United States. My practice focuses on patents including infringement litigation, patent prosecution, licensing, due diligence, and opinion drafting.

I grew up in Omaha and lived in the same house in the Prairie Lane neighborhood until I went to college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After I earned my degree in chemical engineering, I went the law school at the University of Iowa. My first job out of law school took my wife and me to Milwaukee where we made great friends and had a wonderful start to married life.

After our son was born, and while we were expecting our daughter, we decided that the appeal of moving closer to our hometowns and being near family was too much to ignore. We packed up and moved back to Omaha and enjoy working and raising our family here.
